I pause and take notice of the beauty around me, which is why I paint lowcountry coastal paintings.

The way the light filters through the moss on a one hundred year old oak tree, a dragonfly dancing above the water, the find  of a tiny shell, and a misty reflection of a heron in the salt waters of the marsh. Treasures. These things keep me humble and grateful for the moments I have been given. 

Chatty Dragonfly Art is an expression of who I am. What I am seeing and finding Joy; by being present to the world around me.

So where does the Chatty Dragonfly fit into all of this? Chatty is the conversation I want to share with people about my art. The  name reflects the authentic, warm, and engaging conversations that I  seek to have in my life.

The Dragonfly is a symbol that in some cultures represents what is hidden or unique, lying just below the surface. My art is a connection of those two things. Each piece of art is inspired by a story or connection that has enriched and provided meaning in my life.  

I have found in my own life, by slowing down and being present, I am open to these moments of beauty that have inspired me.

Notice the wings of the dragonfly in our logo are outstretched hands with palms up in a spirit of joy and being open to what is.

Our tagline of Just Be reflects that inner beauty of our authentic self where we find our deepest passions and qualities of who we are and why we’re here. 

 My hope is that through my lowcountry coastal paintings you too will find that spark of Joy, and take the time to stop and notice this beautiful world we live in and JUST BE!
